Applications must be submitted by 5 PM on Monday, March 10, 2025.
Read and follow the instructions carefully prior to submitting your application. All winners will be notified by email on or before April 4th, 2025. If selected, you may be asked for documentation to support the data you provide.
You will need to attach an essay that does not exceed 350 words. Winners are selected based on their essays. Please take care in writing the essay and make sure to include the following information:
* Volunteer activity(s) performed
* Need for service – what need in the community are you meeting?
* Meaning and significance of your service to you
* Any challenges you faced in performing this service
Photos, CDs, scrapbooks, and binders will NOT be accepted as part of the judging process.
Students must have completed 100 hours of community service in the last twelve months.
• Community service can include service to the student's community or religious organizations, service through school or community-based service-learning projects, or individual efforts to help others to improve the local community.
• Fundraising, lobbying, paid or stipend service, or hours earned as part of an internship DO NOT qualify for these awards.
• Decisions of the judges are final.
Application Tips
- Type neatly.
- Be specific & concise; volunteer essay should not exceed 350 words.
- Provide all information requested on the application form.
- Focus on the program or activity that best describes your community service.
- Assume judges know nothing about you or the organization(s) where your service was performed.
- Proofread completed application form for errors/omissions.
- Applications and attachments become property of the Helpline Center and will not be returned.
